Frequently Asked Questions

What can I bring?

1) Yourself. Come as you are! πŸ₯° Each person should RSVP on Partiful. We kindly ask no groups larger than 4 attend so that we can maintain intentional interactions amongst new and returning friends.

2) A meal, beverage, and blanket for our picnic.

3) (Optionally) A camera to capture nature, portraits, etc. A community camera will be available if you'd like to snap shots.

What about COVID?

This is an outdoor setting in a public space. Masking is highly encouraged and vaccinations are required to protect everyone. Those who feel unwell or who have been exposed to someone who is sick should not attend with respect for the health of others. If you have a headache, sneeze, or cough – watch out as COVID symptoms can be sneaky. Free at-home COVID tests are available through the USPS. Please practice proactive habits - sneezing/coughing into elbows, washing hands frequently, and awareness.

What food and beverage options are there?

We will have ice pops and lemonade! Please pack and provide your own meal and beverage for our picnic. You're welcome to bring items to share with others.

What can I expect from this gathering?

A safe and inclusive space to eat, chit-chat, and hang out! We encourage an unplugged experience and making buddies with someone new. Small group settings (2-8 people) and social mixing will be facilitated throughout the event so keep an open mind. If you’re ever overstimulated or need a quiet moment, please feel free to step out and recuperate.

We will have the following activities available:

  • Our version of duck, duck, goose for our group ice breaker

  • Frisbee, a ball to kick around, a lil' photo ops.

It will be in the low 60s and sunny! Dress accordingly for being outdoors and for having your photo taken.

What is the site accessibility?

Maymont is a huge park. We will be walking a lot on inclines and unpaved paths.
